So make sure you're at the Telluride Elks Lodge, 472 W. Pacific St., at 8pm on Friday Oct. 24th. Admission is a suggested donation of $5, and proceeds benefit the Elks National Foundation.

***For those interested in participating in the Drag Queen Contest, be prepared to show us your best hair toss, your best booty shake, and your best catwalk/lip sync to compete for prizes from Jesse's Salon, the Nugget Theatre, Wizard Entertainment, and Debbie Reynolds!

What IS this?

This is Elk Ugly - the Telluride Elks Lodge's unique take on "Coyote Ugly." This is a fundraiser for Elks National Foundation. This is open to the public. This is a 21 and over event. This is the home of the $1.98 Drag Queen Beauty Pageant. This is where the action is on October 24th! 

Tell me more about . . . ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION

The Elks National Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides money for scholarships, youth activities, veterans, and Elks' major state projects through the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. In the fiscal year 2008-2009, ENF will give out over $17,000,000. In the state of Colorado alone, they will give out nearly $300,000. For every dollar we contribute, ENF gives back $1.65 to the state.

Elk Ugly is not just a night for the girls to shine on the bar. It's a chance for guys to show off their best assets, too - in drag! Compete for Best Hair Toss, Best Booty Shake, Best Catwalk, and "Ride the Pole" to earn money for ENF! We'll have prizes and guest judges! Want some tips on how to work the strip pole? How Do I Register For the Drag Queen Contest?

It's easy! Just send an email to elkugly@yahoo.com! Include your stage name, hobbies, pet peeves, and stats - height, shoe size, & lipstick color - and you'll be entered into the contest!

Then all you have to do is show up at the Telluride Elks Lodge (472 W. Pacific Ave.) at 8pm on October 24th dressed to kill!!!

(If you just can't get an email to me before Oct. 24th, or you manage to convince a friend to do it with you at the last minute, registration will be available at the door from 8pm-8:30pm the night of the 24th.)

YOU are our guest! This event is open to the public, and we need witnesses to the spectacle! Come on out & have some fun! Suggested donation at the door is $5 per person. Be sure to bring plenty of cash to tip the dancers & bartenders!
